Internal management and organizational structure

The ministry is headed by the Minister of the Interior and for Municipal Affairs, Michael Stübgen and his State Secretary Dr. Markus Grünewald (Agency Chief).

The attached media and public relations area informs the media representatives about political decisions and current developments on the one hand, and citizens, the public at large, and certain target groups depending on the issue on the other.

The MIK is structured into six topic and task specific departments with functional departments reporting to these. The org-chart shown below shows the exact organizational structure, along with the designated contacts.
