The Ministry of the Interior and for Municipal Affairs (MIK) within State Government

The government of the Federal State Brandenburg is made up of the State Premier (Ministerpräsident) and the State Ministers. The State Premier is elected by the State Legislature (Landtag) in a secret ballot and then appoints the ministers. He determines the direction of government policy and is accountable to parliament. Within these policies, each minister manages the business area entrusted to them independently and under their own responsibility. In addition to the State Chancellery as an agency of the State Premier, Brandenburg also has a total of nine functional ministries. Like the State Chancellery, these are at the head of State Government as the "Highest-Ranking State Agencies".

Since December 11, 2024, Katrin Lange has been the Minister of the Interior and for Municipal Affairs. She conducts her official business with support from Frank Stolper.
